Scholarship Eligibility and Application Guidelines
1. Funding Availability and Preferences
Each financial year, the ATDN Board will review the Scholarship fund and determine the annual budget allocation to the fund taking into consideration Special events scheduled for that year.
Any or all available funds need not be disbursed.
ATDN seeks to support as many applications for funding as possible. ATDN prefers to partially support numerous applications in preference to using all available funds for one application.
A points system, based on meeting contribution (e.g. invited speaker, oral/poster presentation, session Chair etc.) is used as a guideline to determine the amount awarded. Evidence of co-funding (e.g. applicant’s employer, other organisational support, self-funding) is also taken into consideration. Alternative funding requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis provided the requests are fully justified.
The amount actually awarded is dependent upon the level of external funding support obtained by the applicant, and the funds available in the Scholarship budget. Funding is not to exceed total costs of meeting attendance or travel costs.
